WP Shortcode - Custom

Need Answer

Is there a way to alter the shortcode for varying products pages ie. different info displays for different products?

The pricing on all our event items is displayed via the shortcode and has text "up to 4 days" after the price but we have two categories of products where the pricing is actually only for 24 hours, so this displays false info because of the text.

Is there a way to display different text after the price for only selected inventory to distinguish this?

From what I can see, we can't even manually change the WP product pages for those items because the shortcode info doesn't actually show...

Ideas?

This is totally possible, but does require advanced HTML / CSS / JS skills to complete. Please email me the specifics of what needs changed and I can take care of it for you and / or provide you with more specific guidance so you can take care of it yourself, whichever you prefer.

I haven't forgotten about your other issues / requests as well and am still researching solutions for you. I'll be in touch on those asap.

Hi Phill,

For any inventory (showing on BEH site only), within the categories listed at the bottom here, we need:

- The text after the price to show "Up to 24 Hours" (instead of "Up to 4 days")

- Remove the second price showing underneath

- The shortcode obviously needs to pull the pricing for only 24 hrs

Only for the categories 120cm Letter Lights and 60cm Letter Lights.

Everything needs to stay the same

Any help would be appreciated!

Ok, got this taken care of you and you shouldn't need to take any further action for it to work for you. Here is what I did:

  • I modified your io_rental shortcode by adding ID's to the existing pricing info and adding the new pricing info in such a way that it is hidden by default.
  • I wrote you a custom plugin and activated in on the site, it finds any page to do with the LED Light Up characters and hides the old pricing info and displays the new.
  • This is only one of may ways this can be done so please let me know if you see any issues with this approach.

Hey Phill...this is brilliant! THANK YOU!

Seems to be working all good but we'll let you know if anything goes haywire with it.

With the additional plug in, will it be affected by any future updates to the main plug in (should we keep an eye on that) or is it independent?

No problem at all!

The additional plugin is actually completely separate from the main IO plugin, so updates and mods should have no effect on the new plugin working. The only thing I can think of that would break functionality is if you change the way you name your LED Light Up letter items, as the plugin I wrote uses the item names to identify what pages it needs to run on and it does so by searching for the term "LED Light Up" in the item title.
