when revising - pricing reverts to "default"

Solved

I noticed that when I revise an order and save - the system autmatically reverts to the "default" price even if I had manually changed it originally to reflect a special/discounted price. I then have to go back in and change it again. Shouldn't it just calculate the revised based on the price entered?

An example for illustration -- cushions are $4.50. On the order I waived the price so changed to $0. The client later increased their quantity from 16 to 17. When I revised and saved, it automatically changed the price back to $4.50/cushion. Luckily I caught this, but on larger orders this might not be as easy to catch.

Look forward to hearing back, thanks for your help.

If you put a zero in, it should keep the zero. If you clear the box, the system assumes you want it to calculate the default price. Are you sure you typed zero versus clearing the box?

Yes, I'm sure I put a zero. The client in fact already had an invoice and paid....they were increasing their order. So when I revised it, it went back to the default price. My colleagues said they have experienced the same issue with other orders as well.

Were you using the update button or clicking the save button when you noticed it changing? Can you reproduce it at will? What lead ID did you notice the issue?

I used the save button.

Lead ID: 544559 - but I have already manually changed it so it appears correctly.

If you change the quantity it will clear the price box because it assumes you'll want to recalculate that price. So in this case, since you changed the quantity you would need to then set the price back to 0 since you wanted to override the default price.

Is there anyway around this? We shouldn't have to set the price again everytime we revise, which is very frequently -- and on large orders this will be difficult to catch. Ideally, the price we set if we change it the first time we prepare a quote, should remain the price each time we revise.

Sorry there is not. You'll have to remember that if you modify the quantity of an item that it will clear that rental's price so it will recalculate it.

I wanted to follow up on this from our conversation last week.

Thank you

Hi - following up. This continues to be a challenge for us that prices revert back to the original price since we often modify prices for our clients. Can you please let us know the status. Thanks much.

This is on our to-do list. I do not have an accurate ETA, but it will likely be sometime after July.
