Taxcloud not verifying addresses, again

Lora C. shared this problem 7 years ago
Solved

All new orders and quotes entered yesterday and today have not verified addresses, and as a result charged defualt tax rates. Usually, you tell us it's a temporary error and it clears up same-day. It's been about 30 hours since I first noticed, and it's still happening.

Most recently, the error message was more detailed and suggested we contact Tax Cloud to get more details...

We did have a temporary issue connecting to TaxCloud yesterday, but it looks like your newest lead actually can't varify the address, even if you test that address directly in TaxCloud's website. You have some other errors on other leads from yesterday that might be a seperate issue that I'm looking into still.

It appears the 409 error you are referring to was related to the temporary issue yesterday. You currently only have 2 leads with that message now. I think the reason why the leads still have the message is because they have an exemption and the routine that looks up rates is not run for an exemption. As a result the warning doesn't get cleared. You can ignore it. I'll put in a task to fix it. I see very few address verification errors in your account as of recent. It looks like the issue is resolved, but let us know if new leads continue to use the default rate. Thank you.
