Drop down suggestions for Date Range Calendar Icon

Is it possible to stop the drop down suggestions after clicking the calendar icon for choosing date range? I use it for scheduling everyday so it is full of suggestions, every time I click the calendar icon the drop down menu gets in the way of the current month.
Any way to get this to stop?
