Alerts sent to wrong email

Please take a look at lead # 1187920. In the log, you will see that the alerts are going to Jason said that he has been getting random alerts for the last year. It looks like this lead was copied from an completed order. Is this the issue? Is there a way to prevent the system from resurrecting an email that is listed nowhere in our alert settings? It looks like there is no way to solve this on our end.

This is some residual data from when we split the account into two. The email address was still in the database as one of your company email addresses. We'll fix it.
