I'm noticing a lot of duplicate TaxCloud entries and am wondering why? Hope we are not paying double sales tax...

When you make changes to a lead that could affect your tax liability, we return the original purchase and then resubmit it. This is the only way to handle certain TaxCloud transactions.

It doesnt appear those were returned though. I tried to go back and look @ the lead now using the lead # above (which was copied/pasted) and I can't find it searching in the keyword box. Any ideas?

Actually, I'm now realizing we cannot search any existing orders by order number. I thought we always did that from the keyword search box on the Lead Page. Is that right?

Certain changes trigger us to do a return and repurchase. It doesn't affect your liability. It is not dependent on you doing a return. It can be because you changed the contact on the lead or exemption certificate or edited a payment.

Typing in the lead ID in the keyword box is working as far as I can tell. Do you have other filters set as well? Hit reset filter and then type in the ID.

Furthermore, on this particular order the system cannot verify the address and as a result keeps adding the tax when it's a non-taxable event. I've tried several nearby addresses and got the same result..."WARNING: Cant verify address"

Please verify whether TaxCloud can find the address via their site:

https://taxcloud.net/find-a-rate/default.aspx

If they can find it, and we can't then the issue is on our side. Otherwise, you'll need to discuss it with them.

Here's a nother example: 504551 Varrato. Total tax for the entire ordershould be $10.41, yet my taxcloud report shows 5 identical instances of $2.83 tax totalling $14.15 for a single $44.73 payment on 5/4

TaxCloud is cash based, so we don't send the info to them until there is a payment. If the payment is less than the total, the tax will be less than the total tax. What TaxCloud report are you referring to? Can you email us a copy of it? Or is it something in IO we can lookup?

One last thing and I'll leave you alone! If I pull the Taxcloud report within IO and look at just April (payment date), it shows that we did 1812.20 in sales tax.

On Taxcloud, it shows we collected $2798 in sales tax in April.

What am I missing?

The reports don't always match well. However, it is a good tool to check TaxCloud vs reality. There are a couple issues that I've noticed. If you make an exempt sale and then later change the contact profile on the lead, you will lose the exemption according to TaxCloud. Discussion on this is probably better done via phone. Call in sometime when you have time and we will go over how to look at the reports.

Some of the searches work, some don't. I'm typing 552671 into keyword box from 2 pcs and my phone to no avail. Tried another phone and it didnt work. Just tried it now and it works on all 4. Something is awry

It seems to work fine here. Let me know if you continue to have issues with it.
