Custom field changing on its own

Jessie O. shared this problem 5 years ago
Solved

My stairs/hils option automatically changes whenever the lead is opened for editing. This only happens when field is left blank.

From the log:

Custom Fields: Any stairs or hills? (No stairs/hills selection made! -> No stairs or hills)

This is an issue because I have to go back and confirm with customers when they leave the option blank and this makes it easy to miss. Can you please look into this?

As a preventative measure, is it possible to make the "stairs/hills" option required before moving on to the quote confirm page.

Yes, I've made this field required now.

Hi, I just tested this and was able to move on to the quote confirm page without selecting anything under the stairs option. Can you please double check? Also some of the formatting seems off now, with some spacing between fields and their respective titles.

Sorry, about that Jessie. There was a value that I didn't notice was conflicting with the "required" code I put in the document. This has been fixed now and the Stairs/Hills questions is now required on your quote page

There still seems to be an issue with this. Looks like after the initial quote is edited, it can be submitted without stair/hill info. There have been a few so far, please see lead 4375285 for example.

Are you referring to starting a new lead from the leads page? You should be able to finish a lead without this field because we cannot make it required from the leads page just the quote page.

Hi Noah, Thank you for the reply. No, these are online bookings created by clients. Somehow they are still able to move forward with the booking. Another possibility is that they are selecting something from the drop down, but it is showing up blank on the admin-side. I checked the code and all of the related comments that get pushed are still there.

I see what you mean, I believe it's being added on the quote then it's not always being brought to the lead, like the example you gave me. I'm going to add this to our product development system so we can look into what's causing this field to not be brought to the leads page. I apologize for the inconvenience, we'll make sure to update you once this is fixed.
