any way to prevent contract signing before payment received?

We have a lot of customers who start the booking process, sign the contract, but do not finish by paying online. If we don't catch these manually, the customer thinks they have an active order (nobody reads all the warnings on the booking pages) and gets irate if we do not fulfill (order never makes it to deposit paid status). "But, we signed the contract!" Our policy is no deposit, no order.


Is there a way to prevent contract signing until deposit is paid, to avoid this issue? It's been something we've dealt with for a few years but every once in a while one gets away from us.

Yes, it requires some customization to your contract page. If interested, we could quote you for the work. We would move the payment stuff above the signature and then hide the signature panel unless the deposit was paid. Let us know.

Sure, send me a quote. I'm sure the solon office would like the same thing. Our pages are identical, maybe we can do both at a lower cost and split it? Lmk.

I would be interested in cost sharing for this feature but would need a override feature for admin created events.

I think the perfect work-around for admin created events would be to have the card-payment entry form within IO, on the back-end. Instead of having to open another window and do it like the customer?

I think this feature should be an option available to all users actually seems very logical to me

Not sure if this is helpful, but we actually had our page customized so the opposite was true - the customer would not have the ability to pay until the contract was signed.

We were running into the headache of people paying deposits but not signing contract which would lead to the order not being reserved and the customers calling us frantically the day of the event asking where their equipment was.

Just wanted to share in the hopes you can avoid those same headaches :)

You can change your settings so that no deposit = no reserved inventory, in statuses. That should have been the easy solution I would think. That is how ours is setup right now actually
