Black out dates on calendar

We blacked out a date (July 4, 2018) but nothing is showing up on the calendar. As a "quick view" tool, it would be great to have it on the calendar (maybe different background - or just say black out - so our sales staff will see it before trying to enter a quote. Please let me know if there is a way to make it show up - or if we did something incorrectly.
