All Categories page loads tiny versions of uploaded images.

Solved

Good morning. I am a web developer/SEO specialist speaking on behalf of his client. We have noticed a recent change that has affected multiple clients of ours.

The thumbnail images for the category images on /all-categories/ seems to have been converted to be a small size, about 125 pixels (width only; otherwise it adheres to its aspect ratio). But this is rather small for our client. We usually have these arranged in rows of three and the images in question were rendered in larger sizes for the client.

We went this design initially because the images looked good, at that time. The images were not being downsized to 125px wide, at the time. Now that they are, the browsers have to upscale them and the end result looks blurry.

At minimum, we would like this change reverted, but alternatively, we would be happy to have some kind of feature in the categories section that allows us to specify how wide your system resizes and renders the category preview images. That way, you could keep your default 125 pixels and your existing clients can keep the site designs that they love.

Going forward, changes like this to the site warrant some form of communication so that there's a chance to prevent disruption to the client's presentation of their products. Thank you.

I don't believe we made a change that would have caused this, but if so it was unintentional.

You'll need to modify the shortcode for all-categories by going to WP->InflatableOffice->Shortcodes->All Categories.

replace %%image%% with %%image_big%%
