Email randomly says failed to send with custom email setup

When it says that it failed the client sometimes receives the email and sometimes they don't. When it says that it fails it never shows up in the log. If we try multiple times sometime the client will get 3 to 4 of the emails even though it said that it failed. Any ideas?

Next time you see the message, can you copy the exact phrasing of it or screenshot it? It sounds like a message your email server is sending us as feedback, so we can only take what it replies as knowledge as to what's happening with it after we pass it off.

There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with your settings. I sent a test from Lead 3433687 and it went through (you can delete this lead at any point). It seems your email server just happened to be unreachable for whatever reason when you were attempting earlier.

That could happen for a few reasons. First thing to check would be the worker account that you are logged in with has their SMTP settings set so that they can send email since in Settings->Email Settings, you have it set to send from the logged in user. If that is correct, the issue could only be that in some circumstances we are unable to connect to your email server. If you keep track of the logged in user when getting sending errors, it will help us figure it out. Thanks.
