Deposit more than total?

We use refundable "security deposits", which are separate from the rental fee. We use them as a means to have a little extra insurance in case the customer damages the unit.

That said, we have a couple items that we'd like to charge a large security deposit (i.e. rental cost might be $200, but we ask for a $300 deposit), but get an error any time that happens.

Is there a way to turn off that error code so that we can charge whatever deposit we want regardless of how much the lead ends up being?

Thanks!

The best way to charge a refundable security deposit would be with a fee, We aren't able to change how the deposits work and they will always cap at whatever the total of the lead is. You can create a fee in Promotions and Fees and have it charge a percentage of the total or on the rentals total depending on the rental chosen. Let us know if you need any help setting this fee up and we'll be happy to assist.

Another option would be to add a required "accessory" to the rental. Have this accessory listed as "Refundable Deposit" Set the rental and the accessory to have a 100% deposit amount in the Advanced Features.

Sounds good! I'll give the accessory a shot. Thanks for your help!
