Our rentals are all based off of 30min after sunset, we do outdoor movies, and giving the client the option to pick times really confuses and complicates the process. We would love the option to turn this off in the general settings. Is this currently possible or is it something that can be implemented?

We currently do not have that option, and it has not been often requested. We are working toward some allowing predefined rental periods that can be selected from a list. It would allow a customer to define periods like "day", "weekend", "week", etc. I suppose this would work in your case too. You could simply define a case called "30 mins after Sunset". Unfortunately, I do not have an estimate on when this will be released. There are other issues with this that need worked out as well, such as defining the time equivalent so that conflict management will still work.

Could the time portion be removed from the customer interface for a fee? We really like the software and want to finally implement it after playing with it most of this summer season.

That's the best way to move it up the priority list. We'll have to know exactly what you are looking for first. I suppose you just want a date and no times on the customer quote form. For conflict management, we would have to define a start and end date behind the scenes. What range do your events fit in (like 8pm - 2am range)? What plan are you subscribed to, and what plan will you be continuing on?

Would be looking for just a date and no times on the customer quote form, that is indeed correct. Rentals are done on a daily basis only and a standard event is 2.5 hours in length with 99% events starting at between 7:30pm and 9:00pm. Start times obviously depend on the time of year.
For us different length rentals could easily be built as different inventory with daily rental rates as we do nothing but outdoor movie parties and events. As we've never been able to fully implement your rental solution we have been on a free subscription and its all we really need as we would only have possibly 5 different inventory items total. Could you quote this custom work on the free plan and if we upgraded to the basic plan?

Chris,
I talked to Joel, and he said we can do what you want by setting up a custom quote form. Evidently, we even have this listed on our features page. For Free users the extra charge is a $200 one time fee. For Basic users it is normally a $100 one time fee, but if you upgrade your account to Basic now, we'll waive the fee for the custom form.
Your customer would only see a date field. Behind the scenes, we would automatically put in a default start and end time. I'm assuming you would like it to be 7:30pm for the start and maybe 11pm for the end. Let me know what you decide.
